Oh I love that explanation of Essentia, because it puts the Il Mheg storyline in a whole new light too. To someone like Y'shtola or Thancred, who's pretty familiar with the imagery of the night sky, something like Essentia doesn't feel all that special (thus creating that friction) - but to Titania, who probably hadn't seen the night sky in hundreds of years, and was still the most sapient of the Lightwardens, seeing that Essentia glamour was an *incredibly emotionally charged moment.* (Which makes their death afterwards all the more sad and now I'm crying about it.)

Yeah!! No mage or aetherologist was around to ruin Vivi's experiment by commenting that it's nothing special when he did it first time. Plus, let's not forget the true nature of the fae, they're childish and ready to believe in wonders. They have the whimsy that the mortals don't. Basically the whole thing worked because Vivi took a minute to believe in himself and in the whimsy, and because Titania was ready to believe too.

The magic itself merely created a pretty backdrop, and our guys did the rest of the work by working through their Feels.

Bluntly speaking, Titania's soul got saved because both they and Vivi are idiots (affectionate).

Also while we're at it, there's an extra funny layer if we remember that Exarch STARTED the legend of the Warrior of Darkness in the First. He made it all up. And now Vivi makes up his own magic based on his interpretation of Exarch's tale.
